Night-Timers
Night-timers. Exactly what is a Night-Timer? Night-timer is the name given to a race of people who are vastly unlike humans. They all suffer from varying degrees of medical problems and / or combinationsof medical problems. They are quite similar to Classical and Category 2 Inheritor Vampires. The unproven theory is that, somewhere quite far back in the Genetic Pool, probably several Category 1's or 2's, or both classes of Inheritors, matedwith humans and a genetic malfunction occurred somewhere.

Night-timers Normally Live Much Longer: They outwardly age more slowly and stay younger looking in appearance much longer. The average live span of a Night-timer is 200 to 300 years. They look about 80 to 90 at age 300. On the whole, nowhere near as long as the normal Vampire. Vampires on average look much younger when they are very much older.

Night-timers Can Be Killed: They may be killed by most of the normal ways of killing humans, and just as easily.

Night-timers Are Psychic: Usually, they tend to be much more psychic than the average human and, most often are just as psychic as the most skilled Vampire.

Night-timers Are Physically Stronger: If healthy, they average three to five times as strong as their counterpart human, but much less powerful than a Vampire at the same stage of life at any given point.

Night-timers Have Extreme Sensitivity To Light, Heat And Sun: As their Vampire counterparts suffer, so do Night-timers. They are also prone to eye problems and digestive maladies.

Night-timers Consume Blood: As their Classical and Inheritor counterparts, Night-timers consume blood as nourishment, in varying amounts. If they do not do so on some sort of regular basis, they become very weak and prone to illness. Like other Inheritor Vampires, Night-timers can eat and drink as well as consume blood.
Night-timers Operate Better After Dark: As with Vampires, Night-timers feel more vigorous, and stronger during the non-daylight hours. As Vampires do, they prefer not to go out during the day. But, as with Inheritors, they can and do go out when the need arises.

Night-timers Do Not Regenerate Organs: Unlike Inheritor Vampires, who tend to heal faster and regenerate to a greater extend, Night-timers do not regenerate organs, but are more like humans in this respect. It was once said that Night-timers inherited the worst of both species. The ailments and other characteristics without the strength, regenerative abilities, health or long life of the Vampire. But they do have enough of the physical problems to make them not quite human by a medical standpoint.

Night-timers Have A Weak Pulse Rate: The Night-timer's "normal" pulse is always weak and shallow. Most doctors have to listen for several minutes before locating a pulse.

Night-timers Have Weaker Vital Signs: The body temperature of the Night-timer is lower than normal human. The heart rate is much slower. The normal blood pressure is so low that the average human would be passing out all the time.

We never get any respect. Humans think we are Vampire pretenders and Vampires think we are nondescript, talent less, normal humans. There are less than 7,000 surviving Night-timers in the world and less than 179 in N.Y.C. We die. Unlike Class 2 Inheritors we are not sterile, but we die, and it is difficult for Night-timers to get pregnant. Many first pregnancies are lost, or the children die very young, as did my own son because of the medical problems.
So, even though new generations may be sired, the young often die much before maturity, making the race as a whole, sadly doomed to extinction. Mating with humans seems to eliminate the Night-timer qualities or, at least, dilute them even further. And since Classicals cannot father children, as the sperm is dead or not functional; and real Inheritors are sterile; mating with a Vampire to strengthen the race would accomplish nothing.

We are the dinosaurs, as we head rapidly toward extinction. One day, before the end of the next 2 centuries, we will see no more Night-timers upon the earth. The race has known it for many centuries. That is why some of us are here, to serve, protect and teach until there are no more to do so.Due to very popular written and film fiction and animation many people believe there is such a thing as a half vampire, a person born of one vampire parent and one human parent. It is also believed these people are called all kinds of similar names ... Damphoire, vampirell, vampir and a host of others originating in works of fiction. There is no such thing as a half vampire, if they where, they would be Night-timers or Genetics As ever,
